Hi beauties, it's me again!
And today I want to talk to you about hair care! Not only hair care, but the natural/homemade remedies we can use to sooth issues such as, itchy scalp, dandruff, hair fall, inflamed scalp, and much more!
In today's society it seems to be all about the most expensive, chemical filled, shampoos.. All the different crazy colors we can dye our hair.. And all the heated hair styling we can handle! But all of those things can quickly add up to suffering, breaking, hair.
Don't we all long for that L'Oreal worthy shiny mane of hair? Won't we all do almost anything to achieve that?
I'm going to be honest. My hair has seen better days. I hardly ever heat style my hair, I've only added hair dye to my hair twice in my 21 years on this planet, I try to find the least chemical filled shampoo and conditioners.. But my scalp is still always overly dry and flaky. And I still have yet to determine the root cause of it all.. But I have found (through over a year of researching and experimenting) a few magnificent things that have helped my poor breaking and falling hair, along with my overly itchy scalp, feel loads better.. And they are 100% natural..
Oil it up ladies! That's right, we are so quick to wash all of the natural oils out of our hair, when really, we need them desperately. Oil along with a scalp massage can do wonders for our hair growth.
My absolute favorite oil right now is Peppermint oil. Man, oh man, does that stuff work wonders.. But **WARNING** do not apply pure peppermint oil directly to your scalp without a carrier oil! You could be risking some nasty scalp burns. When applying peppermint oil, just add a few drops to your favorite carrier oil.. Such as olive oil, coconut oil, or jojoba oil.. Mix the two together (or three.. or four.. however many you want) and start applying it to your hair! When I do this I just soak my finger tips in my oil mixture and start rubbing it into my scalp in circular motions.. When doing your oil massage don't be too shy about it. The key to the massage is to promote circulation and oxygen flow to your hair follicles.. When you do your scalp massage you should be covering your entire scalp, in firm, circular motions (you'll feel the tingle of the blood rushing if you do it correctly!).
Oils and their uses:
-Peppermint essential oil (non carrier oil): great for cleansing the scalp, clearing your scalp of any infections and dandruff, great at promoting circulation.
-Castor oil (non carrier oil): Great for promoting hair growth!
-Olive oil (carrier oil): Promotes great hair shine, tames hair frizziness, combats dandruff.
-Coconut oil (carrier oil): Combats hair fall, adds extra moisture to your hair, combats dry hair and split ends, promotes healthy hair follicles, helps protect against heat styling (DO NOT add coconut oil to hair before heated styling as a heat protect-ant, this will fry your hair, all oil should be washed out of hair before heated styling).
-Jojoba oil (carrier oil): This oil is the closest in structure to sebum (the oil our hair produces on its own), it has antibacterial properties, hydrates hair from the inside, helps add elasticity and softness, adds volume to thinning hair.
-Chamomile essential oil (non carrier oil): great for soothing irritated and inflamed scalp.
-Lavender essential oil (non carrier oil): Controls hair loss and improves hair growth, great natural conditioner, treats head lice, helps control dandruff and itchy scalp, treats alopecia.
Obviously there are many many more oils out there! With many different benefits attached to them. To find the one that's best for you, it's all just a Google search away! ** Before using any oil on your scalp, research how to use it properly.. Some oils should not be applied directly to scalp without a carrier oil. **
I have found that at doing at least one oil massage on your scalp a week has the greatest benefits. I wouldn't do it more than twice a week, remember, too much of a good thing can be bad too.. You don't want to overwhelm your hair. If you are wanting to add more scalp massages into a week, they can be very beneficial with no oils as well. I myself to a scalp massage before bed every night, once with oil, and the other times without.
When doing an oil massage, remember to leave the oil in for AT LEAST 30 minutes in order for the oils to penetrate your scalp and really do their job. The longer you leave it in, the more they do. I leave the oils in over night, then wash it all out in my morning shower. Just remember to wear a shower cap to bed, or lay a towel over your pillow, so that you don't ruin your pillow case.
What else can you do for your hair!?
Stop washing it every day! Yup, you heard me! Washing every day strips our scalp of the oils it needs to thrive, and sends it's oil production into over drive (that's why you experience oily hair the morning after you washed it). Really, our hair was never meant to be washed. But I'm not asking you to go to that extreme. If you could even just get to the point where you only wash your hair once every two days, that would do a ton of good by itself! The more days you can go in between, the better.. And trust me, if you are one of those people that washes your hair every day right now, the transition won't be pleasant. You're going to experience overly oily days where you have no choice but to throw your hair into a bun or pony tail.. But trust me! It will all balance out, and your hair will seriously thank you for it.
Avoid hard water! Do you know what crap is piled in to our water supply? Yeah I didn't either, until I started researching the ugly truth. Without seriously getting into the whole nasty story of it.. Lets just say that the stuff building up on our scalp is no good at all. Soft water is your skins best friend! You can get shower heads specially designed to keep all that extra gunk out of your shower water, they act as a filter, catching all of the unpleasant chemicals and stopping them from hitting your skin.
Apple Cider Vinegar! You heard me! Vinegar! You may have heard rumors of this being a God send for hair.. And I'm here to tell you.. Those rumors are true! Don't shy away from it ladies. A rinse of part water, part apple cider vinegar, might just be the answer you need. It helps restore the Ph of your scalp, combats hard water deposits, combats dandruff and fungal infections, and helps add an extra bounce and shine to your hair. All you need to do is rinse your hair with this mixture after you've done your normal washing routine, then rinse again under normal water. Don't worry, it may smell strong in the shower, but once you're all rinsed off, and out, you won't smell anything at all.
That's all the natural hair tips I have for you today.. What do you do that's completely natural for your hair?
XOXO

Homemade stretch mark remedies
Hello my beauties!
Sorry I haven't posted in a while once again. It's much harder to maintain a successful blog than I would have imagined. But, here I am again! Ready to go with another beauty tip I have found successful in my life!
I am embarrassed to admit, I am prone to stretch marks. I found this out when I was maybe 13 years old and hitting the classic growth spurt and awkward puberty stage everyone has to go through.
I remember one day I was wearing a pair of shorts, and I looked down, and I saw a small, faint patch of stretch marks on my inner thigh. Obviously my heart sank. Who wants stretch marks!? Even just little ones!? Not me. That's for sure.
Stretch marks can be very embarrassing, and very unwanted. Unfortunately they are a very common thing in life.. So take heart in the fact that if you have stretch marks, you are most definitely not alone! Even the skinniest person can have them, just simply from growing taller from over the years.
Over the years I have developed a few more stretch marks as my body changes. I have learned to accept the fact that my body is very prone to them. My body doesn't have to change very much at all for me to find a new small mark on my upper thigh. It is no longer a huge blow to my self esteem as it used to be. I have learned to accept them as part of me and my life. But even still I am always on the look out for a new remedy to lighten them even just a little.
When I first started trying to treat my stretch marks years ago I always felt very discouraged. I found things on the internet always telling me that I would always be destined to have my stretch marks and that they would never improve or go away... Well eventually always hearing such negative feedback got me even more determined to prove that the quest to get rid of stretch marks just couldn't possibly be that hopeless.
So, I started to try everything. Even the strangest home remedies that really made me tilt my head and think "no freakin' way that works!".. I tried it all. I tried the rubbing a raw sliced potato on them. I tried lemon. I tried baking soda. I tried plain old massage. Lotions. Funky coconut oil mixtures. Vitamin E. Lavender oil.
You ask me about a stretch mark remedy.. And I can promise I've tried it. Most of them didn't work. It was very discouraging to say the least. Eventually for a while I stopped trying. Every once in a while I'd kind of try again.. But it never lasted. I learned to live with my stretch marks the way they were. I know my marks aren't the worst out there.. And not everyone needs to see them, they are easily covered.. So hey, whatever right?
Until one day.. I ran on to two amazing things! 1. Apricot scrub and 2. Castor oil!!
Oh my goodness ladies.. I cannot say enough about these two products. Honestly I got them both for totally different reasons than treating my stretch marks.. But one day I randomly wondered if they would help, so I tried it.. I had stooped much lower than an oil and a scrub to treat them before. And low and behold... These two products have worked miracles for me! And they both have great benefits for things other than stretch marks.
Castor oil is great for treating dry and damaged scalp and hair (which is why I originally got it), and the apricot scrub is absolute heaven for your skin in general! So if these don't work for your stretch marks you definitely aren't losing out.
Simply use the apricot scrub every time you shower on the affected area, rub it in circles trying not to pull and stretch your skin too much, rub until you feel a nice warm rush of blood to the area.. You do not need to rub your skin raw! Rinse and pat dry.
Then after mix a bit of castor oil with a carrier oil (because castor oil tends to be thick and hard to spread). You can use olive oil, coconut oil, vitamin E oil.. Whatever thinner oil you prefer. I usually use coconut or olive oil myself. Then massage the affected area in circles and kneading motions. Do this until the oil is mostly absorbed into your skin.. Do no use a lot! oil goes a long way. You'll end up wasting it and having to blot it off with a towel if you just dump a lot on there.
Keep up with this practice diligently! Even when you see some results keep doing it! I have honestly learned that diligence is key. You won't see miracle results in a day. It can take days or weeks. Stretch marks are deep scars. They need some serious TLC before they can get better.
I personally have seriously gotten rid of a whole patch of stretch marks on my thigh with these things. Maybe the marks are still there.. But they are so light I really cant see them. I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to have beaten the odds! Stretch marks aren't the end of the world by any means.. But I know the feeling of need to get rid of them. And constantly hearing "you can't" really sucks.
You can ladies. Our skin is capable of healing and regenerating very well. So why cant it do that with stretch marks? It can. It may be a longer process. But it can.
Here are some other remedies I did see some improvement with as well:
-Cocoa butter (in lotion form)
-Coffee ground scrubs
-Sugar scrubs
-Constant moisture from your favorite non-oil lotion
-Olive oil/Vitamin E oil massages
Good luck! Have a wonderful day! And remember, you are beautiful, even with imperfect stretch marks!

My Holy Grail
Ladies, and gents..
I have found one of the most absolutely amazing things known to man kind.
What is it? The Boscia peel-off masks! Oh my goodness, batman! I am in love. I thought for the longest time that besides DIY masks, my favorite without contest would be the Glam Glow stuff.. But low and behold.. I have found Boscia to be a worthy contestant!
Boscia is a multi-masking system. You can put one on your T-zone, and one on the rest of your face.. Or whatever it is you're needing. They are peel off masks, making for very easy clean up. The formula's help with oil control, help with dark pigmentation, clearing pores.. And so on!
Leave it on for 30 minutes, until dry.. And boom! All done. Peel that off, wipe off a little excess with a damp cloth.. And you have glowing clean skin!
I cannot rave about this stuff enough.. Seriously. If you are a glam glow fan.. Or just a fan of masks, and the detoxifying benefits they bring.. You'll love Boscia!
This can be bought at any Sephora store, or online.

Wedding make up haul!
Hello my lovely beauties.
Sorry for my absence. But with the holiday's and planning a wedding.. Life just get's to you, ya know?
The good news is, I do have some lovely new products to share with you! I may have broke the bank purchasing all of them, but it's been very exciting for me.. And so far, I'm loving them all.
Through a recent turn of event's I have decided I'll be doing my own wedding makeup, and of course that meant stocking up on all new supplies! My review today will be on my new foundation! Yay!
I chose Make Up Forever, HD invisible cover.. And yes, for me personally, it did live up to all the hype. I love love this product. It glides on incredibly smoothly, and leaves your face with a soft dewy glow.. The only downer to it is the first layer isn't totally full coverage, if that's your preference in foundations that's fantastic! But if you prefer a more full coverage, especially for big events, never fret! This foundation can still be for you. Just give yourself plenty of time to apply your makeup! Between layers give it about 5-6 minutes to set. This foundation is very build able, and definitely able to give you your desired finish, no matter what you prefer.
When picking a shade first determine your undertone! How do you do this? Well, look at the veins on your under arm, right around your wrist area. What color are they? If they are blue/purple, you have pink undertones.. If they are green/yellowish, you have yellow undertones.. This is very important when picking a foundation! For example, If you have yellow undertones, and pick a foundation with pink undertones, when you apply it you'll look ashy and washed out..
You can find this fabulous foundation in any Sephora store, or at Sephora.com..
xoxo

Reviews.
Hello Beauties,
This is a little later than promised, but promised none the less.
Reviews on some of my favorite beauty products!!
To start off.. My current foundation. Marc Jacobs Marvelous Mousse foundation! I really cannot say enough good things about this makeup. It is all kinds of wonderful. I have no plans of switching my foundation anytime soon. This foundation is a mix between a liquid and a powder/clay consistency. It is best put on with a sponge applicator or your fingers. It goes on incredibly smoothly, matches your skin tone perfectly, and can be a light coverage, or built up to full coverage. Depending on your needs. The only down side is it's price, but in my opinion, the price is worth it. Link: http://www.sephora.com/marvelous-mousse-transformative-foundation-P384920?skuId=1552710
Next, eye makeup.. My wonderful baby sister bought be the most amazing thing for my birthday.. The Too Faced Cay Eyes Palette. Honestly, I have used it every day since I received it.. It's perfection. Colors for both day and night.. And a guide full of how-to's for different looks. Seriously. Go get it. It has shades for every eye color. Link: http://www.sephora.com/cat-eyes-palette-P387590?skuId=1626027
And the last review for today, but not the least.. My favorite concealer! the 24/7 Urban Decay concealer pencil.. Oh. My. Goodness. This stuff is wonderful. Glides on super smooth, creamy consistency, full coverage that cancels out redness and blemishes perfectly, and long lasting, and blends into foundation wonderfully. It may seem like it comes with very little, but trust me, a little goes a very long way with this beauty. Check it out! Link: http://www.sephora.com/24-7-concealer-pencil-P302924?skuId=1393784

Nail polishes, shoes, eye shadow, and puppies.. These are some of my favorite things!
Hello lovelies.
I've decided to dip my toes into the world of beauty and fashion blogging. I realize that this is a very saturated field and my likely-hood of being a break out star is very slim. But why not give it a chance!?
Makeup, fashion, nail polish, and all things girly are some of my very favorite things. I would adore to own every flowery perfume, all the colorful MAC eye shadows and stiletto pumps the world has to offer.. But sadly, my closet, and bathroom cabinets are not big enough.
I want to start doing reviews on products, and tutorials on makeup looks. All I can hope for is that all you lovely and beautiful ladies out there will help me in this journey of mine.
Hopefully some day soon I will be able to make a little part time job out of blogging and perhaps a YouTube channel.
I may not be a professional, but I have used my fair share of products, and I know what the average girl is looking for.. Or at least I think I do!
This weekend I plan to make my very first beauty tutorial.. Or maybe a review? Hmmm we will see. It's definitely gonna be good though! Or at least in my opinion it will be.
Here's to new things!
XOXO
